Surin Elephant Festival


Good afternoon everyone. My name is Chiaki and, our group is going to talk about Surin Elephant Festival in Thailand. It is held on the third weekend of November. What do you imagine of Thailand? Maybe I think that everybody images elephant. Our group is going to talk about the location of Surin, history, costumes and shows.
First let me introduce the location of Surin. Surin is bounded on Cambodia and near Laos, so there are a lot of the people of Khmer and Laos origin. The population of the city is about one point three million. About 47.2% of the citizens of the city speak Khmer language. How to get there by bus, from Bangkok. It takes about 6 hours. By train, leave from Bangkok railway station. The distance is 420 kilometers. By car, drive along the highway. The distance is 457 kilometers. According to traveler, train is the best. Because it is sleeping car, you don’t tired.
